Just a few weeks ago signs appeared in a Montague Street shop window touting a new Housing Works store coming soon, and now the shop is set to open this weekend.
The brand-new location at 150 Montague Street will have its grand opening on Saturday, October 26, Housing Works told Brownstoner. The store will include clothing, accessories, home decor and furnishings. The Brooklyn Heights spot, the third in Brooklyn, will bring the total number of Housing Works thrift stores to 14.
In a bit of a real estate twist, the space was previously occupied by Halstead. In 2017, they moved to 122 Montague Street. The previous tenant of that space? Housing Works.
For more than a decade the charity operated a thrift shop at 122 Montague Street before closing the location in March of 2017 after the lease for the storefront ended. A year later, they launched a new location in Park Slope at 424 7th Avenue while on the hunt for a new Brooklyn Heights location.
