There are a bunch of notable storefront stirrings on the northern section Flatbush Avenue. 341 Flatbush Avenue, at Park Place (pictured), is going to become, we’re told, “a comfort diner serving only healthy foods.” The menu will include smoothies, juices, sandwiches, soups and the like. At 235 Flatbush Avenue, meanwhile, the Manhattan clothing store Atrium is moving in. Finally, the North Flatbush Avenue BID just mediated a forum with members of the community and owners of 604 Pacific Street, the bar and gastropub near AY that met with some community resistance. It looks like it will go before CB6 on May 23 and proceed with its SLA license with a few stipulations, much like what happened at Prime 6. Here’s a final fun fact: The vacancy rate on North Flatbush Avenue in 2009 was 22 percent, but now it’s under 10 percent, according to the North Flatbush BID. Right on!
