Hop on a trolley for an info-filled trip around the scenic cemetery, with stops at some of the graves of the women of the borough. You can delve into the lives of Susan Smith Mckinney Steward, the first black female doctor in New York and an advocate for women’s suffrage; Eugenia Farrar, the first female singer to broadcast on radio and artist Caroline Weldon, who journeyed out west and became an assistant to Sitting Bull.
The “Women Who Walked Ahead” tour takes place rain or shine on Saturday, March 30 from 2 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $25, and $20 for members Green-Wood and Brooklyn Historical Society. For more information and to purchase tickets, click here.
