Signage and artwork is up at the Greene Hill Food Co-op building on the corner of Putnam and Downing in Clinton Hill, which got us wondering whether an opening was imminent. A rep tells us there’s still no set opening date, but it may be up running before autumn is out. When it opens, the store will initially operate four hours a day, twice a week. Meanwhile, the Co-op is holding fundraiser events in the coming months and launched a Plus One program to bring in more members. The sooner you join, the sooner it opens! And if you’re curious, here’s a video with more information on the front gate artwork, done by the same artists who adorned these Park Slope stoops.

  1. We wish food co-ops would just create tiered pricing structures for those of us who don’t have the time to work there but would like to support it and don’t mind paying a bit more accordingly…

  3. FYI, that isn’t set in stone yet – the work requirement is still being decided and as a member, you can have a say in what that wil be.

And don’t forget, the buying club is up and running and open for all current members now!
