  1. “Life without Fannie and Freddie is the rare goal shared by the Obama administration and House Republicans, although it will not happen soon.” – Loan Giants article

WTF do they mean it won’t happen soon? What do we need them for? Have you seen the stock market lately?

  2. “It’s [Park Slope Eatery’s bankruptcy] certainly representative of an unfortunate trend.” – Bob Kalb, owner of Park Slope Copy Center and Treasurer of the Park Slope Chamber of Commerce

Trend, huh. Chamber of Commerce, huh. He would know. Economy’s going further and futher to shit while the stock “market” chugs along on life support and the “hospital” bill (systemic debt, defaults and hidden losses) compounds daily. Why aren’t Park Slope brownstone/condo/coop “gains” going into local businesses? The mother of all crashes is upon us. When I can’t say but it aint getting better before it gets worse.

  3. If Prospect Park were overrun with a less cuddly invasive species—say the lake was chock-a-block with snakehead fish— would these folks who support geese support them? DOubtful.

Invasive species are a death knell to any environment and its local flora and fauna, and geese are not exception. As for getting rid of these animals, “let it come down.”

re park slope eatery, good riddance to that hookah bar. Just a back door way to get kids hooked on cigs.

that’s beyond stupid to say. okay, why dont we ban everything else under the sun cuz it’s just a way to get kids hooked on x and y

Denton, maybe I’m missing something, but why would a hookah bar want to get kids hooked on cigs? What’s in it for the hookah bar unless they sell cartons of cigarettes or are owned by a tobacco company. Seems counter-intuitive. I would assume many people who use hookahs use that as a substitute for cigarettes.
