Just a couple posts for you today; back full-force on Monday.
Total Bimbosity.
The woman is richer than God and has forgotten what it must be like to breathe on her own.
Real estate’s own Marie Antoinette.
Oh if we could only make a revolution work!!

funny. lmao! ha ha
I thought the rule of thumb for a mortgage is 3x HHI, so that makes a mortgage of $150K. If he has $30K for downpayment, then he can spend $180K for… I don’t know what he could possibly buy in the five boroughs. Assuming the unlikely scenario he has no debt.
BUT, if you go to the second page, Babs gives some very interesting advice to someone whose illegal immigrant sister wants to buy a home. Verrrry interesting.
Babs clearly has no clue. I live in Clinton Hill, on the G line no less, and it takes me 35 minutes at most to midtown. It’s about 5 minutes farther from the bridge than the Heights. Oh and there hasn’t been a $250G apartment in this hood in two years. Uhm.. and it’s nowhere near Kensington in geography, vibe, or desirability ( no disrespect to Kensington folks! K is great, just not nearly as close to the city)
Good for you 10:04 AM, but the point is most people do.
And looking at what’s available right now for 225 on the NYT Real Estate – average maintenance is 500.
You’ve got a good deal and live without some things, but most people will have these costs.
Bimbo doesn’t even know the crap she’s shilling for. Cheapest “one bedroom” (469 sq. ft!) in Clinton Hill on her website is $305K.
Can someone send me Bab’s number. I want to buy that 1BRM in Clinton for 250K.
But the point is, to tell a 25-year-old that they should buy a place that’s five times their annual salary is idiotic.
your numbers are off, 9:57. and i know because i own a studio around that price.
first of all, my maint. is 250 a month.
secondly i don’t buy cable or phone, so my internet is 50 bucks and my gas and electric is 50 bucks.
so you need to add another 350 a month to that money to live on.
its fine as long as you have no debt.
