Fornino Pizza Soon to Open in Park Slope!

Looks Like Lucali is Coming to South Slope![Brownstoner]
Grilled pizza? I’m not sure how I feel about that.
This is exciting but we really liked Tempo and were sorry it went. Tempo was opened by the Cucina chef, fyi. I wonder if adding the little takeout arm, Tempo Presto plus another large Tempo Presto to 7th Ave is what put them out of business. Tempo always had a lot of diners but I never saw anybody in either of the Tempo Presto’s.
Is this the old Cucina space? I thought there was supposed to be a Chinese restaurant coming in there.
this is not going to be like the Fornino in WB. In fact its the same in name only. The pizza here will be grilled. The Pizza is actually made on a grill not an oven. There will many 20 or so varieties and a bunch of various Italian dishes.
Sounds good…we’ll see.
sweet anon – i’ve been definitely meaning to try it, have heard mostly great things!
5TH AVENUE ROCKS!!!
@dirty hipster:
I have been to Paulie Gee’s twice and love it.
Disclaimer: I am acquainted with Paulie and have had a chance to taste his pizza before the restaurant opened.
That disclosed, I think his place is warm and welcoming and his pizza outstanding.
anon – have you been to paulie g’s yet?
Yeah, that’s a lot of space for a pizza joint.
Wonder whether Micheal Ayoub will be doing pastas, salads, etc. Perhaps a partial return to his menu from the Cucina days?
Have had his pizza in WB twice and it’s fine stuff.
We’re really approaching pizza-saturation, aren’t we?
In Brooklyn, we have Lucali’s, DiFara’s, Toby’s, Lucali’s II, L&B, Franny’s, Roberta’s, Paulie G’s. Can have good pizza every night of the week and not revisit a place twice.
