If you’ve been wanting to clear out some tomes to make way for new reading material, the Brooklyn Public Library’s annual book sale offers an opportunity to donate your used reading material for a good cause.

Between now and the date of the sale, October 19, you can drop off your book donations during regular open hours at the Central Library. Stop by the returns desk and your donation will be added to the books available the day of the big sale. Curbside drop off is not available, so make sure to walk your books inside the library.

Once you have all that empty space you can snag some books, movies and music to fill the void at the annual sale. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, October 19 at the plaza in front of the Central Library at 10 Grand Army Plaza. All proceeds from the sale go to support the collections and programs at the library. For more information visit the book sale event page.
