Dumbo Dumpster Gets Wallpapered
The artist Christine Finley brought her brand of “polite graffiti” to Dumbo today. When we passed by at around noon, she had already reprised her work at (or outside, really) the New Museum by wallpapering this dumpster outside 25 Jay Street.

rob, so the bedbugs killed it but not the hypodermics? not the swine flu chunks? interesting.
Has Finley progressed from yams in her behind? Or is that another artist?
i think it would be cool as hell being a garbage man cuz of all the stuff you find, but because of bedbugs that dream was crushed.

The SDNY is arguably the uniformed force that has had the most positive impact on quality of life in New York.
Adorable, unless of course you’re the schmuck paying for the dumpster which has now been obscured by the wallpaper which may result in your not knowing where to dump your trash or the carting company refusing your business or demanding that you scrape the wallpaper off their property or …and so on.
Garbage men have feelings too, ya know. How would you feel if I wallpapered your desk and office chair?
I found that in a book of how to make art more visible in urban places, a book on sale at that trinket shop on 5th Ave. near Degraw (I think).
wow i cant believe i never knew dumpsters had wheels considering how many ive been in!

Rob – Most of the little dumpsters have wheels on all 4 corners. The large ones have wheels only at the back so they can roll off & on the trucks that pick them up.
Jester – I’ve tried that moss routine on rocks & things & it’s not as easy as Martha says it is.
hahahah good one
