As you may have heard, the Department of Transportation has been planning a pedestrian plaza along Myrtle Avenue between Grand and Emerson. Two neighborhood organizations, the MARP and the local BID, which helped the plan reach fruition, are now calling for design submissions from the community. They will use the design submissions, it seems, as fodder for their negotiations with the DOT design team over the final plan. So if you’re passionate about design, the fate of Myrtle Avenue, or both, you can find details for submissions on the MARP website. The deadline for submissions is September 16th.
