D.C.-based real estate investment firm Madison Marquette is buying the retail space at The Edge building on the Williamsburg waterfront for more than $40,000,000, Crain’s reported. Marquette will own 60,000 square feet of retail space at the base of The Edge, the 30-story tower with 580 condos and 400 affordable rental units in smaller adjacent buildings.

The retail space, which faces Kent and North 6th, has several tenants, including CVS, the gym Brooklyn Bodyburn, the restaurant Fabrica, a bike store, liquor store and preschool. Seller Douglaston Development built The Edge and is in the process of constructing two more towers as part of the complex.
