Cubana Cafe Opens in The Slope
We just noticed on Friday that the new outpost of Cubana Cafe (of Smith Street fame) is now open on the corner of St. Marks Place and 6th Avenue in Park Slope. It can’t have been open more than a few days. Streetlevel: Cubana Cafe Coming to 6th Avenue [Brownstoner] GMAP

They opened last Wednesday. I asked when I went in for coffee on Sunday. I haven’t tried the food yet, but it was a nice place to sit at the counter and drink a (delicious) Cuban coffee with a friend. Prices are reasonable, and I’m happy to have a Cuban place back in the neighborhood (I still miss Beso, even though their service was terrible), particularly for brunch.
Current hours are 10a – 11p. Soon 8a – 11p. I’m very excited to have a small non-diner open early on weekdays. Should have open air seating in warmer weather – the windows slide to the side like Sugarcane.
And I’m very happy to have another restaurant in the area. That corner of Flatbush wasn’t very appealing.
Unauthentic, Americanized food. They can’t even make good rice and beans!
This thread rules.
No, it can’t have been open for long.
Glorified ham sandwiches still suck, though, so I won’t be eating here anytime soon.
this thread is full of stupid.
Do they have the awesome corn like cafe habana in manhattan?
Zach,
Great double post. This is a welcomed addition to the hood. Another bodega RIP.
