139-atlantic-ave-120610.jpgAfter opening up its own spot at 139 Atlantic Avenue this March (pictured at right), Flea fave Crop to Cup is now decamping for a bigger space in Gowanus. BoCoCa reports that the coffee purveyors are moving to 13th Street and 4th Avenue to “integrate our importing+wholesale office + coffee labe + retail cafe in one.” Hopefully 139 Atlantic Ave won’t stay empty for long: someone on site told us there are tentative plans to open a “Fashion Co-Op” there, which would rent space to different designers. 1. Yeah 11217, I meant to mention that Chinese place too! They were on Groupon a few weeks ago but I missed the deal… even if it’s just Chinese food I’d like to go down there and support them sometime.

Though I just looked at the streetview image of my old block… complete with 3rd Avenue traffic backed up for blocks in both directions… and I can’t really say I wish I still lived there.

  2. Boy, when I lived on 3rd and 16th there was nothing around but Taco Bell and the unfortunately-named Grade Fair market. Now there’s that bakery/pie place, two bars, Bar Tano, Bell House, now this coffee shop. What a difference in just three years.

  3. They’re settling in two blocks down from Cafe 474. I didn’t realize 4th Ave could support two high-end coffee joints (I’m leaving out Root Hill since they’re up in the names).
