Conway Stores may have gotten the boot from Al Laboz as part of his effort to upgrade the landmark building at 505 Fulton Street, but the Fulton Mall mainstay is staying in the game: The discount clothing retailer has just reopened in a three-level, 36,000-square-foot space at 427 Fulton Street near Jay Street. 1. I’m liking the mix of retail that’s happening in downtown. Hopefully this area will continue working for everyone.

Now, a few restaurants to open up and keep people down there past 8pm….

  2. No, Dave, the Offerman building they just vacated is landmarked, not this. I’ve got socks older than this building.

It looks nice, all things considered. Conways is a greet budget store. I have friends who buy high end clothing who also shop here for fun and cheap trendy stuff, as well as for towels and housewares, as do I. The store works for all ranges of people.

  3. they might as well landmark every fugly old building in nyc. i mean hells just take a look at nyc natives? they are actually some of the fugliest people in the country. (well except for the midwestern moonfaces..)
