Sounds familiar Snappy but I don’t know.
In other news I just went outside to feed my three girls (momma cat and two kittens) and one of the kittens Zorra just brought me a bird (sparrow). ACK!!!
This was her first present to me. So I gave her high praise as she did the happy proud dance all around it.
So gross.
The Vapors? Really? That doesn’t sound right.
no china in gdansk. Steel, yes.
if you want china go to Meissen.
A charming town miraculously unbombed and intact.
Uh folks, I was advised to go to google and type in “polpette”. Well, I did so, and here is what I found:

Please see the first sentence “Meatballs are often hard to find in Italy” and that is TODAY, in 2009, when Southern Italy is much more prosperous. Turn back the clock to 100 years ago, when the Italian migration to the US began, and you’re talking almost no meat in the diet.
Finally, let me add a few things:
-I once again make my challenge to go to the English-Italian dictionary and insert the word “meatball” and see if it comes up with anything. As to “polpetta” it is the diminuitive form of “polpa”, which, means flesh. As some of you might know, Italian allows the diminuitive form of almost any noun to become a word itself. The actual word you will find in the dictionary, however, is “polpa”.
-If you really want to get into the origin of the modern incarnation of the Italian version of the meatball (as known in the US), it came from the US government. The US government was concerned that the Italian diet was too heavy in startch, and in the 20’s actually launched a campaign to convince Italian immigrants to eat more meat. This fact can also be looked up.
I may not be a cunning linguist, but I do know the facts!
😉
Snappy, that sounds kind of like Biz Markie’s “The Vapors.”
DH, this is what’s stuck in my head…do you remember the song that went “I know a fat girl, she wears an orange skirt, give her $20 and you can do work…” (I know, I know, see what happens to my brain when I’m jobless!). Google is saying LL did it but I would have sworn it was Kool Moe Dee or someone else. Do you know what the name of that song was or who did it?
“Any old school hip hop fans out there? I’m trying to recall who did a particular song and I’m stuck…google is giving me what I’m pretty sure is an incorrect answer.”
Clues?
Okay gang. Things are picking up here at work.
I am out of here like Vladimir…
Have a great day all!
