Colonie Spinoff Governor Opened Last Night in Dumbo

What do you do if you’re a chef who moves to Dumbo and find yourself “appalled” at the lack of decent dining options? Open your own place, of course. That’s what Brad McDonald, part of the team behind the popular Brooklyn Heights dining spot Colonie and Front Street newcomer Gran Electrica, decided to do. Last night the new place called Governor opened on the ground floor of One Main Street right next to One Girl Cookies. Daily Candy got an early taste and called it “scandalously good.” Menu items at the 60-seat spot include fried blowfish tails, beef tongue and sweetbreads. GMAP
