Last week The Local posted an article by the artist Steven Matt, who is looking to build a bench constructed out of broken glass collected in Fort Greene Park. Matt sent us two design proposals he’s put together with Brooklyn architect Richard Colwell of Via Architecture. The bench will be constructed with 50 pounds of reclaimed glass, all of it gathered in the park. The final design will probably incorporate elements of both proposals pictured above. The project is vying for a $5,000 Pepsi Refresh grant. After it’s built the bench won’t be able to go into the park because of city restrictions, so it will be auctioned and proceeds will go to the Fort Greene Park Conservancy.
