The Brooklyn Road Runners and Slope Sports are sponsoring a 3 mile run through Prospect Park on New Year’s Eve. The race starts at 11:15pm at the 9th St. entrance of the park. There is a $20 entry fee before 12/31, and a $25 fee on race day. There will be free running gloves for the first 250 registrants, with hot chocolate, party favors, handwarmers, and lots of fun available for all at the event. The organizers welcome walkers and runners of all paces, and a prize of free running shoes will be awarded to the top male and female finishers. I’ve always wanted to do this. Any takers this year? I’m out of shape from sitting and writing for the past 9-months, but a quick walk through the park for New Year’s, what fun. Let me know if anyone is interested, and we can set something up.

The only “fun run” there should be on New Years is a group of teenagers skipping out on the bill at their local diner!
