Every artist doodles on napkins, but Philip Lockerby and Zartosht Soltani are making a career of it. The new-ish Crooked Tail Café will be displaying their bar sketches and portraits that the two Brooklyn artists have compiled over years of after-work carousing. Lockerby and Soltani, two animators who live in Park Slope and Brooklyn Heights, respectively, often frequent local bars at the end of the day and sketch bartenders and patrons on whatever paper they can find. To see some of Lockerby’s work, you can visit his Etsy store, DrawingOnNapkins. Their show at Crooked Tail will have an opening reception on August 14 at 7:00 and run through September. GMAP
