The clip above, from 1970’s “The Landlord,” comes via Curbed, which has the following to say: “The Hal Ashby film stars Beau Bridges as an upper-class type who settles in the ‘ghetto’ of Park Slope. (Exteriors were shot on Prospect Place.)” The flick is screening tomorrow night at 92YTribeca.

  1. I thought this was a good film.
It took on timely issues in a rather blunt but
effective manner and I never got the sense that it
was attempting to take too much of a moral stance.

    One interesting note,
When the character played by Bridges finally finishes
    his renovation of one floor,
it looks surprisingly in tune with today’s brownstone
    styles.

  2. oh thanks for posting this!!! im not going to watch it because i want to see the whole movie, even tho my attention span is more apropos to youtube clips, but ive wanted to see this. anyone have a copy? (i dont have netflix)

  3. maybe forty years from now people will look back and say: can you believe houses used to be so desirable in Brownstone Brooklyn? It’s amazing to think people used to pay millions for them…that was before….you know….

  4. The beautiful Marki Bey was in this. The last scene is shot on Columbia Heights in BH. Simplistic view of things, but worth watching nonetheless.

  5. The house is 51 Prospect Place b/t 5th and 6th.
The scene where they chase him down street shows the little dogleg in the background where Prospect turns into Warren.
