Does wandering around downtown Brooklyn make you think of waffles? Well, now it does. Artist Martha Friedman, a sculptor obsessed with recreating everyday objects like, yes, food, has placed a seven-foot tall waffle made of foam, resin and metal on the still-green lawns of MetroTech Commons (Curbed has this one, too). The piece is on view until September 25, 2009, courtesy of the Public Art Fund. It’s called… Waffle.

  1. Love it. And it is Obama’s”fault” – he said in an interview that what he was looking forward to most when his campaign ended was having waffles with his family and hearing his daughters talk about what they were going to do that day. waffles. Yummy,

  2. BRG, haven’t you heard? It’s Obama’s fault. As soon as he gets elected, we start seeing erections of indecent installations. Are, oops, our entire society is going to fall to pieces. It’ll be Sodom and Gomorrah redux.
