Last night Brooklyn Heights was graced with the presence of a pink, hipster ice cream truck called Heartschallenger. The website was very vague (and very pink) but after a little research it looks like the business originated in LA and sells “international candy, ice cream, jewelry, limited edition clothing, mixtapes, vintage deadstock sunglasses, glitter guns, etc.” They weren’t seeing much business outside of the Atlantic Bookshop on Atlantic Ave, but we think they’ll find their Brooklyn niche market yet.

  1. Here’s where this truck and other gourmet food trucks that may arrive from LA need to go — not to neighborhoods that already have tons of shops and restaurants and ice cream places but to the neighborhoods that don’t! But that do have residents desperate for more upscale options in their local amenities. Then they’d actually get some business.

  2. wow dh, ive never seen them and i am on that exact block multipes times a day during the week. i guess lots of things are below and above my radar tho. i want to hate on this, i really really do… but for not reason im not feeling the hate. i wish them luck! i kinda have a thing for pink vehicles tho. which is why im surprised ive never seen it on spring street.
