Fort Greene nonprofit SNAP (short for Strategic Neighborhood Action Partnership) offers the residents of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and elsewhere in Brooklyn programs in technology, entrepreneurship and life skills. SNAP, looking to transform its modest space on Myrtle Avenue, has teamed up with the nonprofit designNYC and design firm Incorporated NY (who are working pro bono) to do so. Incorporated NY came up with the plans above, which doubles the size of the computer lab, allowing room for 24 people. Now SNAP is asking for contributions to build out the space and make the design a reality. There’s a video up and opportunity to donate right here. The hope is that enhancing the experience for the staff and community, increasing capacity and attracting new customers for paid services will create a new earned income revenue stream to make SNAP a more sustainable social enterprise. Click through for a few more pictures of the design, and see what SNAP’s offices currently look like.

Actually, back and neck problems are cause by the sitting position
and height of the chair and desk, not a laptop or desktop monitor.
I found out the hard way, and once my sitting position was adjusted
I was fine.
