Mayor Bloomberg announced yesterday that Coney Island hosted 400,000 visitors this summer, more than any summer since Steeplechase Park closed in 1964. That makes for 1.7 million rides in our epic summer heat! In response to the wave of visitors, the 2010 season is being extended by three weeks until the end of October. The new Halloween-themed programming will debut on October 15.
