Brooklyn Bridge Park is unveiling its sparkling new recreation courts and beach at Piers 2 and 4 this Thursday afternoon. There will be a celebratory ribbon cutting at 3:30 pm, followed by activities on the bocce, handball, shuffleboard and basketball courts. Pier 2 will encompass the new recreation courts, a full-size roller rink, swings, picnic tables, restrooms and fitness equipment. However, the roller skating rink won’t open until late June. And parkgoers now have a beach at Pier 4, where visitors can jump on the East River for non-motorized boating.
