The Local covered this news last week but it is too cool to pass up! The newly released “Fort Greene, Clinton Hill Neighborhood & Architectural History Guide by historian Francis Morrone also comes with an audio walking tour meant to be accompanied with the book. The Brooklyn Historical Society put together a podcast covering the neighborhood’s abolitionist history, the history of the park, the Pratts, and a lot more. The book also packs in first-hand sources and little known facts, “All the stuff The New York Times didn’t mention,” Morrone tells The Local. Check out their post for more details.
Anyone know if the porches in this photograph are original to the houses or a later add-on?
For those who may be wondering, my comments went to the mispelling of Morrone’s name as “Morron” when this thread first appeared. The correction was made but my post (now irrelevant) remained.
Read the book – excellent!!!
Great news on the architectural history guide. However, the man behind is Francis Morrone — with an E! He is far from a moron, or even a Morron.
