We haven’t had a real vacation since we started Brownstoner over four years ago and after the last five months of writing the site almost entirely by ourselves while juggling Flea-related responsibilities, we are beat. So tomorrow we’re heading out with Mrs. B and a few friends (sans kids) to the Amalfi Coast for a week. We may write a few posts on the local architecture while we’re there, but by and large we’ll be leaving the blog in the extremely capable hands of Gabby Warshawer who, many of you will remember, played an integral editorial role in the site in 2007 and 2008. We look forward to returning full of blogging vim and Flea vigor. Ciao!
Have a wonderful trip, Mr & Mrs. B
Don’t you think you should at least GMAP your location? I’m not sure Gabby will be able to watch your kids and run the blog. Who do we contact if the Open Thread catches fire and burns down?
P.S. Thought you ought to know that I saw The What at the Register’s Office this afternoon. He was talking to a clerk about transferring a deed or title or something like that…
Very deserved. Enjoy!
er, ehm, I’ll be going to PS1 and then, if the weather holds, Studio Square, the new biergarten in Queens. Probably back in the office on Monday. You know, just in case you were wondering….
Enjoy your trip. I just got back it was amazing. I attended a wedding on the May 16th @. I left NY on the 15th via Euroflyusa.com. It was the only airline that would get me there for Saturday Morning since I was leaving on fri. I returned on the 19th via Alitalia. I can’t wait to return since the visit was so short. I also stayed @ casangelina.com I’m sure you have your trip already booked but have fun. Food, View, Coast, People totally amazing….
Have fun Mr. B.
I am double jealous!
We’ll be staying in a house in Praiano. Have a day trip planned to Capri and to Paestem. Look for a Paestum blog post towards the end of the week…
Must go to Netunos for Gelato on Brioche in Salerno! Have a wonderful time. Amalfi Coast is truly amazing. Ask someone in Amalfi how to get to the Private Beach-there is a boat that takes you-only the locals know about this!
If we ever wanted to sell our house, that would be quite a marketing gimmick: The What as the exclusive broker on Brownstoner’s Brownstone. Imagine the press coverage. Fuhgeddaboudit!
