The photos above show the damage sustained at CHIPS, the nonprofit with a soup kitchen and shelter on 4th Avenue, following the fire next door at Danken Auto in September. The organization’s website says the soup kitchen will reopen next week but the shelter is still closed and being repaired. The transitional housing in the building consists of nine studio apartments for teenage mothers or mothers-to-be. Donations to help with the rebuilding are being accepted on the nonprofit’s website.
