We were shocked to see Circa Antiques will be closing up shop after 40 years in business when we passed by 374 Atlantic Avenue yesterday. The store will continue to sell online, a notice in the store window and on its website says. Circa is selling all its furniture at 20 percent to 50 percent off and plans to close in two or three months or at the end of 2014. Will you miss it? GMAP

  1. these stores are mostly full of way-too-expensive junk. Used to be great places to pick of a nice find here or there… but every time I go its a bunch of rusty mirrors and odd coffee tables that I can get upstate for 1/2 the price.

  2. This is really sad. Beautiful one-of-a-kind stuff for sale in the store and they also had an expert refurbisher in the basement, who brought back to life several falling apart antiques for me. The people buying brownstones these days want all modern furnishings. . . . Good news for Design Within Reach, bad news for these guys. Yes, end of an era on Atlantic Ave.
