New(ish) local blog Flappy Days gets its first big scoop yesterday: The new tenant for the former Busy Chef space at 111 Court Street will be none other than Checkers, if some contractor types on-site are to be believed. Kinda random, but plausible given the type of food that currently finds success on Court Street….

Sadly, the politics of the company makes it a little hard to crack the NY market. There is actually a secret chick-fil-a associated with a college in Manhattan, but it’s not open to the public.
My debt card should be safe there.

We had a Checkers on 34th Street, near 3rd Ave when I lived in Murray Hill. That was over 10 years ago. Don’t know if they’re still there…
I think they are. They just opened a location on Flatbush Ave and Albemarle. I first heard of them last year while visiting my nephew in Co-op city. I must say I like their burgers and seasoned fries.This Court St location should do well for the moviegoers as well.
Checkers must be making a major push into town, there’s one opening on my corner in south bushwick.

I’m not sure if anyone explored Busy Chef, but they actually have a large courtyard in the back. Perhaps you’ll see the picnic tables with Red and White umbrellas in the back of the building.
