Home dec store Brick + Mortar quietly opened at 240 Kent Avenue, No. 34, a week ago, and will celebrate its official grand opening this weekend with 10 percent off. Started by an interior designer and corporate lawyer, the store carries objects, books and accessories from such as Tom Dixon, Iitala, Jonathan Adler, Pendleton, and Taschen, among others. The aesthetic is “mid-century meets rock and roll, with an emphasis on clean architectural lines, pops of color, quality craftsmanship, and a California meets Brooklyn vibe,” according to the owners. Co-owner Gregory Coccaro previously was one of the owners of Earnest Gregory, a mid-century modern store in Los Angeles. The store is open Wednesday through Sunday, and an online store will debut later this year. GMAP
Too bad the other stores in this mini-mall thing where Brick + Mortar is located are random as all hell.
Im from L.A., and would love to know what a “california meets brooklyn” vibe is.
