Our garden team got to work yesterday ripping out the old chain link fence. We’ve gotten to be quite friendly with our neighbors to the north and are coordinating our garden reno with theirs (at right in the top photo), sharing a contractor and some materials.

  1. you should plant a cover crop that takes out the poisons that are surely in your soil, sweat peas and other legumes are ideal, takes out heavy metals as well in case your kids play out there a lot

  2. We just attached the cedar fence to the chain link, saved time and money. Plus the neighbor on one side had already done this so we couldn’t replace the chain link without also replacing his wood fence. 7k sounds really reasonable, are you doing a lot of the work yourself? It looks like it will be beautiful.

  3. I’m currently working on my garden project with Nate at Real Tree. Nate was recommended to my by Lynda Downey who owns Bark (www.barkshop.com) on Atlantic Ave. She obviously has impeccable taste so I knew the recommendation was solid. Turns out she was right.

Nate and I designed the garden together and he and his team have done a fantastic job.
