Back for a fourth edition, the Brooklyn Public Library’s LitFilm Festival will be virtual again this year.
Highlighting works that explore literary subjects, the festival kicks off on September 20 with a keynote by filmmaker Lynn Novick and runs through September 26 with fifteen films, a mix of documentary and fiction.
Selections this year include documentaries delving into the private lives and literary inspirations of writers including August Wilson, Amy Tan, Ta-Nehisi Coates, Flannery 0’Connor and others. In addition to the keynote, another chance to hear from a filmmaker will be the screening of “Return to Rainy Mountain.” The celebration of the life of Pulitzer Prize-winning Native American writer N. Scott Momaday will be introduced by the filmmaker, and Momaday’s daughter, Jill Scott Momaday.
All screenings are free but do require advanced registration in order to receive the streaming link. For more information visit the film festival’s event page online.
