After a long wait, the Brooklyn Pub is finally open. There was some nice outdoor seating up and we could see three of the reported seven plasma televisions through the window. Anyone been there yet? Something tells me a lot of things rub you the wrong way orestes. Lighten up.
It will be a good fit if it succeeds and doesn’t foster any late night noise.
I stopped in to say hello on Sunday afternoon and was surprised to find the bartender was an old girlfriend. They seem to have their act together and the menu looks great.
Crowd has been mixed…obviously “family” for the first week, but neighbors said they sat outside the other weekend, had a few beers and some grub, gave the place a good review, from outside.
Walking past it the other day, sidewalk had a family eating, a young woman with a glass of wine and the bar fairly full. It was 6pm.
Good fit? Define that and I’ll give you an appropriate answer.
It is quite annoying, orestes.
As if every person who lives in this neighborhood (or any neighborhood) are the exact same and all like the same thing.
No, this isn’t an upscale looking place, and I bet there’s a lot of people who are really happy about having a nice casual place to grab a beer. No matter that “type” of person they are….
What exactly is a “good fit” when it comes to a neighborhood bar? Is this the polite way of asking if it caters to “our” type of people? That line really bubbed me the wrong way.
Just go further South, Johnny- All the ones listed above are great.
Also- check out the burger at Korzo. It’s fantastic, and it goes great with the liter stein of Staropramen on offer.
Still love the burger at Lot 2 immensely.
Also the burger at Thistle Hill Tavern (15th and 7th) is delicious.
After seeing 11217’s review, I tried the burger at Lot2. I have to agree with edgykitten’s comment about it.
I had the burger at Lot 2, it was good, but something was just not there to make it the best, in my opinion. I like the burgers at Sidecar and Black Horse Pub.
