The Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway is growing and greening. To celebrate current successes and gear up support for the completion of their goals, the Brooklyn Greenway Initiative is hosting its 6th annual Greenway + Industry benefit.

The event on Thursday, November 15 brings together supporters and business and civic leaders to raise funds to complete more of the pathway and honor those who have helped advocate for the project. This year’s event will honor the NYC Ferry operated by Hornblower with the 2018 Waterfront Connections Award, for increasing access and connectivity to the waterfront communities of New York. The Brooklyn Greenway Initiative will also be introducing its very first Executive Director, Terri Carta, at the event.

Started in 2004, Brooklyn Greenway Initiative is the nonprofit organization committed to the establishment, development and long term stewardship of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway. When completed, the Brooklyn Greenway will be a biking and pedestrian path stretching from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge that links open space, parks, commercial corridors and the waterfront.

The evening kicks off at 6:30 p.m. with an awards ceremony and nibbles and drinks from Brooklyn purveyors. The celebration continues with drinks, dessert and dancing from 8:30 to 11 p.m with music by DJ T.O.N.Y. It all takes place on November 15 at The Williamsburg Hotel at 96 Wythe Avenue.
