Brooklyn Coronavirus Update and Open Thread: Unemployment for Freelancers (3/27/20)
Congress is mulling an aid package that would give full pay to the unemployed, including freelancers, as global leaders contract the virus.

We’re in the second week of sheltering in place and the fifth day of distance learning for New York City schools.
Coronavirus isn’t the only thing that is novel, as the unemployed — including freelancers and independent contractors — will get full pay if Congress passes the latest proposed aid package. As the virus infects leaders around the world, we are sad to hear architect and critic Michael Sorkin — at one time the architecture critic for the Village Voice and more recently a critic of New York City’s urban planning process — has died of coronavirus at the age of 71.
