We’re in the second week of sheltering in place and the fifth day of distance learning for New York City schools.

Coronavirus isn’t the only thing that is novel, as the unemployed — including freelancers and independent contractors — will get full pay if Congress passes the latest proposed aid package. As the virus infects leaders around the world, we are sad to hear architect and critic Michael Sorkin — at one time the architecture critic for the Village Voice and more recently a critic of New York City’s urban planning process — has died of coronavirus at the age of 71.
