Spend a week exploring and supporting the independent bookstores of the borough with the return of the Brooklyn Bookstore Crawl. On hiatus during the pandemic, the event is back as a lead-up to the annual Independent Bookstore Day.

More than 20 bookstores are participating in the event, which runs from April 23 to 30. Participants can pick up a passport at any of the stores and accumulate at least five stamps to earn a 25 percent off coupon. While not all the stores have announced their special events and perks for the week, the full list of participants is available online and includes shops from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge, including Greenlight Bookstore, Cafe con Libros, Freebird Books, Books Are Magic, Community Bookstore and The Bookmark Shoppe.

The Center for Fiction will be hosting an afterparty on April 30 at 7 p.m. with a chance to win extra prizes and celebrate all things literary.
