Book lovers headed to Downtown Brooklyn on Sunday to enjoy a day of literature with the return of the annual Brooklyn Book Festival.

Publishers, literary organizations, book-sellers and authors settled in for a busy Sunday in stalls that stretched out through Columbus Park from Borough Hall to the Brooklyn General Post Office. The day was warm and sunny and lucky vendors had tables set up under white tented stalls; those in the sun made due with umbrellas, hats and sunglasses.

In addition to all the book shopping opportunities, there were readings and performances. Crowds spread out across the steps of borough hall, gathered around stages scattered in Columbus Park, and headed to nearby venues such as the Brooklyn Historical Society and Brooklyn Law School. Joyce Carol Oates, Sohui Kim, Jonathan Safran Foer and Jessica Lange were among the speakers.

If you missed out, here are a few views of the book-inspired fun.
