Brawta Cafe to Become Clothing Boutique
A former Jamaican restaurant on Atlantic Avenue is in the process of getting transformed into a clothing store. The former home of Brawta Cafe at 347 Atlantic will be reopened as a store for fashion designer Jodi Arnold, according to a tipster; the opening is expected in the next few weeks. Good location, no? Brawta was terrible! Mediocre, overpriced good with lousy service. I, for one, hope that they were forced out by high rents and wish this new place all the best.
Jodi Arnold is quite well respected in the fashion world.
Oy, no wonder my female friends have no money.
I think it is a wonderful location, if only I could afford to shop there…
Great, another expensivve clothing store for famished waifs with a trust fund. I really prefered the antique stores that used to line these blocks to the boutiques there now. I’d rather have a Thai restaurant.
Well, it’s not a nail salon or a Thai restaurant, so that’s fortunate. Here’s the website for the designer:

Great location, but I will miss Brawta. It was there when there were no other Atlantic Ave restaurants, just antique stores, way back in the 80’s, early 90’s. They had a great run, I hope they quit when they wanted to, and were not forced out by sky high rents.
Mi miss Brawta.
