This is a little different than our typical first post of the day but you play the hand you’re dealt and this photo came in from a reader (and one with rather enviable views, we might add) last night. What you are looking at, according to this tipster, is the scene on the pier between Fairway and the Revere Sugar Factory. We’ve got no other info and haven’t seen anything else in the papers. Leads?

Yeah I guess all that history of the Mafia on the docks of Red Hook are just urban legend. Their control of the Longshoremen, the import business and basically running the NYC crime underground for 40 years. Thats all just made up. Al Capone? He must be from Indiana. Gallos and Cosa Nostra? Must be from Bangor, Maine.
That picture does not contain but the body but it is where it was. It was my dog who first saw the woman in the water. She had been there for while. I never would have noticed if it weren’t for my dog Tuck’s refusal to leave. She was an adult black female, and had been in the water for a while as almost all the pigment of her skin had been washed off. Not a pretty picture. That photograph was either taken before or after, as there were NYPD, EMS, Fire, Boats me and my dog there.

Could be you are just passing along and giving credence to heresay and unsubstantiated rumor? ( which will then be repeated as fact around the neighborhood this wkend)
