You will have to be quick, but Tuesday around lunchtime you might be able spot, or at least hear, the world-renowned daredevil flight squads The Blue Angels and The Thunderbirds.

The air show is an overhead salute to COVID-19 front line workers, according to a government press release.

The planes will soar over all five boroughs plus portions of New Jersey and Long Island from noon to 12:40 p.m. on Tuesday, April 28. The maneuvers should be visible from a number of Brooklyn neighborhoods, including Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Bay Ridge and Williamsburg, going by the route map. The demonstration is part of a series that will occur across the U.S. over the next few weeks.

But don’t flock to the waterfront to see the show. “Residents should observe the flyover from the safety of their home-quarantine and should refrain from traveling to see the flyover,” instructed the Blue Angels on Instagram. “Social distancing should be practiced at all times.”

The tour has attracted some measure of criticism, with some saying the cost could be put toward protective gear or other aid for those affected by the crisis.
