Soon after our June Edition of Commercial Clutch said Best Buy is looking for multiple locations around Brooklyn, and a commenter noted they would be moving into the Atlantic Center, we saw that signage sure enough was up. They’re coming to the 625 Atlantic Ave. spot, and the commenter noted they were shooting to open before the holidays. GMAP

  1. “I love J&R for one reason: their sales people know the products, and don’t try to oversell you.”

Don’t worry. If it’s anything like the Circuit City, you’ll have to beg to have the staff pay any attention to you at all. This is Atlantic Center after all…

  2. Wait a second…All of the anti-AY folks assured us that this is a failed mall. Why would a major retailer rent space in a failed mall? Applebee’s also opened next door? Would someone please tell these national chains that they better leave, because this is a failed mall!

  3. How can a FULLY ESTABLISHED and HUGE corporation like Best Buy have a 5-month expected opening?! This shit should be open in 2 months. What is wrong with this city? Why does everything take so effing long to happen?!

  4. Heather, just another piece of evidence that Ratner’s buildings aren’t worth crap. How about the fact that there’s not a single escalator from the LIRR level up to the street level. Just one small elevator. Wonderful planning, Bruce!

Imagine the great missteps people are going to find in his crapola arena.

  5. Sorry, I just can’t stomach supporting any business located in the bum Ratner’s property. I miss stopping off at the Pathmark there, but I’ve found that the Waldbaum’s on Ralph Av is a hell of a lot nicer store.

  6. Totally agree with benson — and denton and jester — and was about to say that myself. I don’t mind paying a small amount more (and that’s really all it is) for the selection and customer service/knowledge at J&R. Plus which I can stop on my way home before walking over the Bridge!
