Back when we lived in the West Village for a few months, the urge for a burger would present us with two obvious choices: Brave the frat-boy crowds at Corner Bistro or settle in for a slightly more civilized, though unabashedly casual, experience at Tavern on Jane. More often that not, we opted for the latter. Now that we’re only a few blocks from sister restaurant Tavern on Dean in Prospect Heights, we’re looking forward to the time when a baby sitter unexpectedly shows up our door and Mrs. B and I can pop out for a spontaneous but utterly satisfying cheese burger washed down with a pint of Brooklyn Lager. In fact, we’ve been thinking this would be a good place for the next liquid Brownstoner gathering. What think you?
Hours and Menu [Tavern on Dean]
I’m in.
I’ve always liked the friendly vibe here but the food is very average and nowhere near as good as Tavern on Jane — unless they’ve changed chefs recently?
r u kidding me? i had NO idea they were related to Tavern on Jane! now i will make it a point to go over there!!!!
Thanks for posting the link to the menu. I’ll have the oyster po’boy! With reasonable advance notice, we’d love to partake.
If anyone’s a regular, why don’t you float the idea to the manager of doing something some Saturday in March from, say, 4-7 pm.
Please email us off line about the contractor.
Great idea!
Tavern on Dean was my regular, when lived in Prospect Hights. Say ‘Hi’ to David-the infamous barman- if i can’t make it.
Great idea for drinks. Brownstoner, sorry to highjack this site but could I please get your contractors name and number? I was at the DWR event and you mentioned him. Thanks, see you at the next event.
