I used to work in Metrotech about 5 years ago, and all I can say is…who the heck would want to live in that area? And for roughly $2K a month for a 1 bedroom to boot?
I don’t get it.
Although I love all the pictures on the web site showing tons of great ameneties, attractions, and restaurants that are _absolutely nowhere near the place_!
haha Tyburg. First thing I think of when I hear avalon…
Also, anyone who went to college in Boston will probably have an association of some sort when they hear “Avalon.”
Errr Avalon: Downtown Brooklyn??
Yowza, they need to fire their copy writer:
“For those inspired by the excitement and opportunity of everyday life, welcome to youtopia. More than a lifestyle, Avalon Fort Greene offers the perfect backdrop for you to be you.”
“Umm, yeah, come on over. I live on the 18th floor, 32 doors down from the elevator.”
LMAO! Pic above looks like a rental inventory bar chart (a beauty). Oh wait, it is! (650 units, damn!)
Rental rates seem reasonable though. Could be lower considering the finishes, low celings and lack of charm. 10 x annual rent puts the 3BR/2BA at about half a mil, half off peak comps of more charming like-sized apartments.

SIX HUNDRED FIFTY units?! Ee Gads! I couldn’t think of a more horrible place to live. “Umm, yeah, come on over. I live on the 18th floor, 32 doors down from the elevator.”
Check out the floorplans on their website. Is it just me, or do the stated square foot numbers seem grossly inflated?
It’s a beauty! Figuratively.
