Community Board 2 announced this week that alternate-side parking regulations will be suspended in parts of Downtown, Brooklyn Heights, Boerum Hill, Fort Greene, and Clinton Hill, beginning on September 8. The suspension, the third and final phase in a project to replace signs district-wide, will last six to eight weeks, while the Department of Transportation posts new, reduced street-cleaning regulations. Some blocks will reduce street cleaning—and thus alternate-side parking—from twice weekly to once weekly, while other blocks will simply change the hours of cleaning. Only parking signs with brooms on them (pictured) will be affected. Boundaries for the affected area detailed on the jump.
North: Joralemon Street (not included) from Furman Street to Boerum Place; Fulton Street (included) from Boerum Place to Classon Avenue.
East: Classon Avenue (included) from Fulton Street to Atlantic Avenue.
South: Atlantic Avenue (not included) from Furman Street to Court Street; Court Street (not included) from Atlantic Avenue to Wyckoff Street; Wyckoff Street/St. Mark’s Place (included) from Court Street to 4th Avenue; 4th Avenue (not included) from St. Mark’s Place to Pacific Street; 4th Avenue (included) from Atlantic Avenue to Pacific Street; Atlantic Avenue (included) from 4th Avenue to Classon Avenue.
West: Furman Street (included) from Atlantic Avenue to Joralemon Street.

So, only the ‘gentrified’ areas of Brooklyn gets this revised plans which require them to move their cars only once a week and we at Bed Stuy has to face the usual crap thrown at us! The council member of district 36 needs Mr. Al Vann needs to do more,speak more and fight more for Bed Stuy. Proven leadership?? Are you kidding me? Mr. Vann what have you done for Bed Stuy lately??
I have had enough of Bed Stuy being used by the Mayor and so called council members as a dumping ground. This is our community and we are proud if it – so, stop this nonsence immediately.
