Closing the L entirely will ripple through the whole MTA system. A/C out of Broadway junction will be full before they get to Jay Street. There will need to be fewer F trains to accommodate more G and M trains. 7 and E trains will get slammed. NQR riders might get a break without anyone crowding them at Union Square, but based on the load of people going from those trains to the L rather than up and out of the station, I suspect they will feel the impact as well.
