As to paper files, I find them easier to retrieve than digital ones – who remembers what category it might’ve been included in but one does have a visual memory of having stuffed certain bits in specific, physical folders. Ditto books – much easier to leaf through a real book to find a vague reference than scan Kindle pages or whatever.
