After tearing up the linoleum that was covering their hallway floor, owners are wondering if the original wood floors can be saved. They are trying to remove the linoleum backing paper left behind in patches on the floor, but removal is resulting in gouges and scratches to the wood. Should they forge ahead to see what condition the wood is in once they are done or should they go ahead and replace the floor?
Please chime in with your advice.
