There’s a methane smell coming from the basement bathroom and after some detective work homeowners have tracked the origin to the base of the toilet. The toilet functions without a problem, but the smell seems to be seeping from between the toilet and the floor. Could it be a simple issue of replacing the wax seal or is it more likely to be a faulty trap?
Please chime in with your advice.
