On March 21, Brownstoner will relaunch with a host of new features and upgrades that speak directly to what you want to see:
- a faster, redesigned website
- bigger and better images
- a new real estate listings system
- new commenting and forum capabilities (yes, you’ll be able to edit your comments)
- and much, much more
It’s all part of Brownstoner’s evolution.
If you think back to the year this site was first launched, iPhones didn’t exist and Facebook was just for college kids. Times have changed. Brooklyn has changed. And now, Brownstoner is going to be even better.
Just about every corner of the site is getting a refresh. We’ll give you the full rundown with all the details when we launch. Excited? So are we.
I’ll second the ‘liking’ option, also the option to downvote comments or flag them for review.
Will the Queens section continued to be pretty much non-existent?
Probably, since it’s a Brooklyn focused site
Posted too quick, see, they need that edit function. I meant to add they should beef up the Queens content, or just eliminate it altogether.
This site was at its most exciting and most amazing shortly before Mr. B instituted mandatory registration for commenters. Once registration became mandatory, the quality of comments declined, many of the best commenters left all together, and a period of decline ensued. My suggestion would be to undo Mr. B’s mistake: Stop requiring mandatory registration.
This request, though totally understandable, is a tough one. We would be overrun by bots and spam without logins. We’ll have lots of new stuff that will hopefully bring the excitement of commenting back for you.
sounds great. i hope you preserve easy searching and browsing of the forum archives.
Yes. Forum archives will be preserved and searching enhanced on the new site.
Yes! You will be able to “like” comments.
